Three from Toronto Union Station

These are some abandoned signs from around tracks ll, 12 and 13 of Union Station, by TTR, (Toronto Terminal Railway) and VIA Rail. (what goes up doesn't necessarily come down.)

The third image with the raised letters one is an old VIA Rail sign that is rather a curiosity to me. Why the bother for such a mundane message. They would have had to buy cast acrylic letters and hand-glue them onto the acrylic substrate. Silk screening would have been a fraction of the cost. And less quirky. Look closely - The two 'e's closest to the bottom are kind of headed downhill

Bathurst beauty

I walked to the bottom of Bathurst Street for the first time the other day and here was this big wall of graffiti and construction. It was like exposing a bit of the underbelly of the city.

Fresh Brewed Type

Here is Josué Menjivar's site with a section dedicated to found type. This shot in particular is from Ottawa (my home town) and the lettering from these "cold ice" boxes are iconic to this part of the country, brings back memories.... There are also shots from Perth, Ontario, a small town outside Ottawa that I rarely see any reference to at all.

these are shots inside a great coffee shop near where i work in the distillery.
i didn't even get all the signs photographed, will go back for more later.
plus, their coffee is crack to me now... that, and all the type.
