What is Villatype?
After admiring the signs and lettering on my walks to work, I wanted to document what I had found. We often discuss the cultural impact of architecture and urban spaces but rarely the words and letters found in these spaces. So here is villatype, a visual record and discussion of type and lettering found in the public domain. I hope you will all take part by adding to the dialogue and posting your own finds.

those shadows remind me of a birds sitting on a hydro line, really nice shot.
I really like the square-ish sans in the ABSESSES metro. It's a good inspiration for a typeface I am working on right now, sorta square and modular.
I wish I was in Paris right now

i believe that's good ol' parisine hard at work in the first photo...
good catch Anthony, I think it is Parisine. "GRAND" looks familiar too, it's some sort of geometric sans like futura...
You all seem very knowledgeable about type, I just like taking pictures of it! I'm looking forward to learning more...
